About the Gypsy in Charge

I love life and living it with open mind and never-ending dream.  I have an extensive bucket list so I am always looking for the next adventure, whether it is locally or far away.  I have a concert bucket list, a travel bucket list, etc., but meeting Dolly Parton tops them all.  She is my inspiration on so many levels and I feel like we are kindred gypsies, of sorts.  

Currently, I am in my dream job of being a classroom teacher to fifth grade students. teach English Language Arts in a small town in rural West Virginia.  Logan Middle School is home to my classroom full of thinkers, and I'm proud to be a Timberwolf.  Did I mention I love my job?  It's true!  Even on the full moon, crazy days, and all-around bad ones--I still love my job!  

I am an author, reader, explorer, dreamer, traveler, and all around adventure seeker.  My life is crazy at times, and chill at times, but one thing is for certain--It's always interesting and I always have a story to tell.  And you will hear them, all of them!  Just stay right here and find out about travel hacks, my classroom experiences and about enjoying everyday life in an exciting way!

Things you should know.  Music is a passion--not singing it, but listening to it.  Music is the release of the soul when one can't find the right words to say.  Travel is a passion.  I love exploring new places, meeting new people and hitting the open road.  Reading is a passion.  A book will take you to many places when travel is not an option.  Plus, I love words!  Weird I know, but I can't help but love the way some words just flow from mouth like a melodious song on a warm summer day.  I love Jesus and try to live an honest life that makes me proud to be here.  My friends, family and students are priorities.
